For every makeup junkie, makeup removers are definitely a must-have; especially those who prefer waterproof products!

Hello, waterproof mascara!

Without any makeup removers, clearing your face, your eyes, and lips will surely be a struggle.

Two makeup removers I’ve emptied so far. One from Maybelline, which costs around P199. (I can’t remember how much exactly but I believe it’s somewhere around that amount.) The other one’s from EB Advance, which is a lot cheaper. It only costs P95!

The only problem with these, is that you still need to wash, tone, and moisturize your face afterwards.

What if you’re too tired already? What if gravity in your bed seems to be so strong it pulls you too hard you can hardly control it?

Thank the makeup gods for Micellar Water!

Basically, micellar water is a product that removes makeup without the need for rinsing.

It has “micelles”, tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules, that are suspended in soft water. Micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin.

I’ve emptied my Bioré Micellar Water, so I had to get a new one. But because I also wanted to try out different brands, I bought this one from Maybelline at BeautyMNL.

Let me compare the two:

My experience:

💧 First thing I noticed is that Maybelline Micellar water, as indicated on the label, is unscented. It’s really just like water; it doesn’t have any scent to it.

On the other hand, Bioré Micellar Water has a mild scent that reminds me of an alcoholic beverage, maybe soju?! 😂 I wasn’t bothered at all, though.

💧 Next thing I noticed is that Maybelline has less oily residue than Bioré.

Good thing: It doesn’t feel greasy after.

Downside: Because it is less oily, removing my makeup isn’t as easy as when done with Bioré. (For me! It might be different with you, so do let me know! 😅)

💧 Both Micellar waters make my skin feel clean after thoroughly removing my makeup. It normally takes 4-6 cotton pads for me to remove my entire makeup.

💧 Price-wise, Maybelline wins. It’s got 200ml of the product, and it only costs P199; while Bioré’s 90ml bottle costs P189. So if you’re on the practical side, Maybelline is a better choice.
