BOTTOMS UP! Product Empties #1

I have been collecting empty boxes, jars, and bottles for months, because I’ve planned on posting my “product empties”. My mom was already eyeing on them and was itching to throw them away. So I just kept them all in a shoe box.

IMG_20180401_132100-01.jpeg

Actually not all. 😪 I got rid of some because I kept forgetting that I’d be posting my empties!

I have been meaning to post this, but see, it took me ages before I actually did! Thanks to Dee! I am finally doing it.

So yeah, I’m doing this in collaboration with Dee, and you can check out her blog here.

Dee and I collaborated last December 2017 on YouTube, and we both did a Holiday Glam makeup look.

This time we’re doing a collab on our respective blogs. I’m so excited to know what products she’s used up, and whether or not she’s going to get them again.

Mine consists of products that I used up from way, way back. Everything is listed in random order.

By the way, isn’t it satisfying to see ourselves actually finishing up items we spent our money on whether or not we like them?

Be Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Conditioner

IMG_20180401_132229-01.jpeg

This caught my eye because I knew how good coconut oil was on the hair. It smelled so good and it did make my hair smooth and soft. However, the pump dispenses a small amount of product, so I had to press it several times to get an appropriate amount. It isn’t as creamy as I prefer it to be, that’s why I had to put a handful of product on my hair and finished the whole bottle sooner than I usually did with my other conditioners.

Repurchasing? Probably not. Maybe I’ll try their other conditioners, though.

Black Beauty Crystal Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

IMG_20180401_132310-01.jpeg

I love the scent. It smells like watermelon – so refreshing. It has a thick consistency and lathers nicely. My scalp absolutely felt clean every after wash, but I think the formula is pretty strong. My hair got too dry and brittle. My hair was all over the bathroom floor and on the brush.

Repurchasing? I’m afraid not. (Sorry!)

A-Skin Sebo Control Shampoo

IMG_20180401_132234-01.jpeg

This was one of the prizes that I, Tin, and Tricia got from YEF Philippines giveaway almost a year ago. It has Zinc and Salicylic Acid so I knew it would be good for my problematic scalp. Sadly though, it was also a bit drying, despite having Provitamin-B5 in it.

Purchasing? With its price of P500? Thanks, but no, thanks.

Skin Genie Pit Perfect Underarm Whitening Scrub

IMG_20180401_143242-01.jpeg

It is made mainly of natural ingredients, specifically something you can also find in the kitchen, so that’s a plus for me. My pits absolutely felt smooth after my first use. I used it twice a week, as indicated on the label. However, I can’t say it whitened my pits, or even made a difference with the color.

Repurchasing? Maybe, if I need a scrub for my pits, I’ll pick this one again.

Nivea Mattifying Toner

IMG_20180401_132331-01.jpeg

It isn’t empty yet, I know, but I haven’t been using this for months now. I got it on Sale at SM City Sta. Rosa, and I was intrigued by its name ‘Mattifying Toner’. To be honest, I didn’t think it mattified my face. I normally stay away from products that make my eyes or throat feel weird, and this is one of those. My eyes felt watery, droopy, and sleepy every time I applied it. My skin also doesn’t seem to like this product, as bumps and small pimples appeared after a few hours. Also, if you don’t like products with paraben, this isn’t for you.

Repurchasing? A big NO. (Sorry~)

Maybelline Micellar Water

IMG_20180401_132339-01.jpeg

Most of the products I use are waterproof, so using this micellar water alone to remove my mascara was a tedious task. I prefer micellar water that has a little oil in it, like the one from Biore and the blue one from Garnier.

Repurchasing? Definitely not.

Belo Essentials AcnePro

IMG_20180401_132244-01.jpeg

Since this is available in drugstores and supermarkets everywhere, it is really easy to find. It’s also not as expensive as the other toners, which is perfect for budgetarians like me. It also comes in small sizes like this, so it’s perfect for trials. It’s also good at addressing acne problems. Another good thing about this product is that it’s hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores). As you can see, I’ve used up two bottles!

Repurchasing? Possibly yes.

Sooper Beaute Pimple Away Solution

IMG_20180401_132251-01.jpeg

I was really satisfied with this product, it did a good job clearing my skin from pesky pimples. I have posted my full review on this product; you can read it here.

Repurchasing? Definitely yes.

MaxiPeel Zero

IMG_20180401_132258-01.jpeg

Just the name MaxiPeel kind of intimidated me, because it reminded me of their peeling solutions. Since I’m not into chemical peeling, this particular product from MaxiPeel is just perfect. It promises zero peeling and zero redness. True enough, I didn’t experience any of that at all, but I think it took a longer time to smoothen or improve my skin condition.

Repurchasing? No.

BN Whitening Shoppe Underarm Whitening Solution

IMG_20180401_132405-01.jpeg

It looks and smells just like a facial toner. I dab a few drops onto a piece of cotton, and gently wipe it all over my pits. I really love using this product, because I didn’t sweat and I felt dry all day. By dry, I meant I didn’t perspire, but not dehydrated. It also helped lighen my pits. See other BN products here.

Repurchasing? Absolutely!

Faith Hope Love Bug A Bye

IMG_20180401_132345-01-01.jpeg

It’s vegan so it’s super safe on kids! Its main ingredients are lemon grass and citronella, which are both known for its mosquito repelling properties. The application is really easy, as it comes in a spray bottle. You’d better get one now this summer. 😉

Repurchasing? A big YES!

Sooper Beaute Baby Skin Snail Serum + Tomato Extract

IMG_20180401_132303-01.jpeg

I know snails are disgusting, but they offer amazing benefits on our skin. I have a full review on this product as well, you might want to read it here. It is, by the way, the most read post on my blog! Wow.

Repurchasing? Yes.

Nichido Final Powder

IMG_20180401_132322-01-01.jpeg

This is my first ever translucent loose setting powder, and I can say that it has set a certain standard when it comes to local loose powders. It only costs P150 (if I’m not mistaken) and it contains 25g of product, which is already a good amount. It sets my makeup nicely and does a really good job at keeping oil at bay.

Repurchasing? Probably yes. I’m currently in love with my Coty Air Spun, though.

Maybelline the Magnum Volum Express

IMG_20180401_132426-01.jpeg

It says waterproof but it constantly smudged on my lower lashline. I like the curved wand, but the formulation isn’t any better than the HyperCurl.

Repurchasing? Nope.

Avon SuperShock Max Mascara

IMG_20180401_132419-01.jpeg

Most of Avon mascaras make my eyes droopy which often leads to headaches. But this particular product never caused my eyes to feel weird, and it’s also good at curling and volumizing my lashes! I’d say that this is one of Avon’s best products.

Repurchasing? I probably will.

Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray

IMG_20180401_145031-01.jpeg

I was dying – like D-Y-I-N-G – to have it, but the price was way up there ⬆ for me. So when I saw an online shop selling the smaller bottle, I went ahead and placed my order. I don’t know what went wrong, but it never worked on me. 😢 It was so raved by other beauty enthusiasts, saying it helped hold their makeup better and that they didn’t oil up as much. I had high hopes for this product, that’s why I was super upset when the result on me was completely the opposite.

Repurchasing?  Surprisingly, I actually think I will. Because I want to give it another go, this time with completely different makeup products and techniques, too. 😉

Evian Natural Mineral Water Brumisateur Facial Spray

IMG_20180401_132210-01.jpeg

A lot of people might say, “It’s just friggin water!” I don’t know about them, but I LOVE this! My face felt naked without it. I believe I made my skin happy, she’s drinking some good stuff.

That’s everything I’ve collected over the past months. There’s supposed to be more, but my mom threw some away by mistake (or was it?). Such a relief that I’ve finally posted this, I can now let them go. 😅

Thanks so much for reading! Comment below which products you’ve emptied and which ones of them you’ll repurchase.

  1. Wow! That’s lot of empties. Which made me think “anu anu ba mga empties ko?”. Actually, I don’t keep my empties kaya di ko na rin matandaan! Lol! Usually, pag di ko kasundo like soaps, facial wash or toners I will let my daughters or son use it mga teenager na baka sa kanila mag work mga products na pwede din naman sa kanila. Some of your empties gusto ko itry pero nabasa ko impression mo parang wag na lang or pede dn naman!
    Salamat sa pag share!
