If I were given a chance to bring back a feature of my young self, that would be my healthy long black hair. You never would have guessed I used to have straight hair ’till I was in fifth grade!
Back then, my tatay used to regularly take me to the same hairdresser’s and had my hair trimmed only by two inches. My hair was long, down to my waist and sometimes even to my bottom. My teachers loved styling my hair because it was silky, smooth, healthy and pretty. I’d go to school with my hair down, I’d go home with my hair in braids.
Then in 1994, my nanay had my hair cut shorter than usual; it was shoulder-length. My tatay was so upset and told me that the reason he kept my hair long was that if it were cut short, it would start to curl as my parents themselves had curly hair.
He was right. Just a few months later, it started to wave and fast-forward to now, it’s curly, frizzy, dry, and well, unattractive. Well, hugely because of me not giving it much importance growing up. ☹
I’ve tried a lot of hair products that claim to make hair healthy, but to no avail. Some were really good, but they were quite a price.
Here are the things that must be considered before I write about the products:
- I had the ends of my hair lightly bleached in December and January.
- I have used different kinds of hair dyes – ones bought online, in drugstores, and in thrift shops.
- I have a terrible problem with hairfall. Everytime I take a shower, there are strands of hair all over the floor. When I comb or brush my hair, there’s a clump of hair in the teeth or bristles.
- My scalp can get sweaty and oily.
So winning in SKYE PH‘s giveaway was really timely. That time, I was hunting for hair products that could address my problems. I was looking for a shampoo and a conditioner that could clear my scalp without drying my hair.
Now my search is over! Without further achuchuchu, here are the products that I won from SKYE PH…
These are the Épsa Organic Argan Oil Refreshing Shampoo and the Épsa Organic Argan Oil Moisturizing Conditioner. Both are held in huge bottles, each with a pump. Each of them has 550 ml of product. Not bad for P225!
They were wrapped with
loads of tape, which I didn’t mind at all, because for me it meant their top priority was for the recipient to get the products in perf condish.
According to their Instagram post, this product has three variants: Brown Rice, Pomegranate, and Argan Oil. (Gosh, I’ll definitely try that Pomegranate variant next time.)
Argan Oil Refreshing Shampoo
EPSA Organic Oil refreshing shampoo can be [sic] effectively remove the hair grease and dirt. To ease the scalp dry, to solve the problem of vulnerability of hair. The added nutrients, [sic] can repair the damaged hair and calm the cuticle. Let [sic] you have shiny and smooth, refreshing and healthy hair. The hair can be smooth as silk and feel refreshing, off-dry, natural and healthy in [sic] all day.
I’ll get straight to the point – I LOVE THIS SHAMPOO! Most shampoos I’ve used have done either of the two: made my hair soft but my scalp gunky; or cleansed my scalp but made my hair dry and weak.
This shampoo clears my scalp from dirt, sweat, and oil without drying up my hair. My scalp is less oily and itchy. My hair felt stronger and thicker.
I like that it’s really foamy even with only 3-4 pumps for my hair. It’s really thick so a little can go a long way.
It also smells so good even our bebe boys love it!
Argan Oil Moisture Conditioner
EPSA Organic Natural Argan Oil moisture conditioner is rich in argan oil, [sic] keratin. To ease the scalp dry [sic], to solve the problem of vulnerability of hair. It has positive effect to the dry and difficult-combed [sic] hair. Strengthen [sic] the hair and makes your hair smooth and attractive. With the fresh fragrance, keep you active, comfortable, and relaxed in [sic] all day.
So in love with this, too! I love the scent as well, and I also like that it’s thick and creamy that five pumps can fully cover my entire mane.
According to the instructions, it’s better left onto hair for 8-10 minutes before rinsing it with warm water. So I leave it on my hair while I wash my entire body. I don’t use warm water, though. 😜
I believe that this conditioner really makes it a perfect partner to the shampoo, as I see little to no hairfall nowadays! Yay! It makes my hair super soft, more manageable, and so much easier to detangle. It also smells nice! 💗
Often with other shampoos and conditioners, I experience hairfall and breakage as I gave my head a massage.
Do note, though, that I don’t expect my hair to look perfectly silky. My hair looks like a mess in person, but at least I’ve noticed great improvements.
Aside from shampoos and conditioners, they also sell gummies for nails and hair, which I think are really interesting products. I’ve realized that hair can be so much healthier if our body is healthy, too.
