Happy Christmas, y’all!
I still can’t believe it’s Christmas once again. And in the next few days we’re welcoming a brand new year! What did you have for Noche Buena?
For today’s Makeup Mondays, I’ll be sharing with you some of my red red lippies that can be perfect for holiday!
I was originally planning to swatch all lippies on my lips, but it’s already a quarter past 3 in the morning, I’d better hurry so I can finally hit the hay.
Let me start with the bullets:
Kris Aquino x Ever Bilena Matte Matic Lipstick (Love)
BLK All Day Intense Matte Lipstick (Australia)
BLK All Day Intense Matte Lipstick (Hong Kong)
POP Beauty Matte Velvet Lipstix (Cozy Crimson)
Karadium Oh My Lips (No. 1 Deep Red)
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick (Bombshell Red)
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick (Love that Red)
Now the liquid lippies:
Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick (Famous)
Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick (Heartbreaker)
Ever Bilena Matte Liquid Lipstick (Love that Red)
Clio Virgin Kiss Silkuid Lip (Insane Red)
Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink (Pioneer)
L’Oreal Infallible ProMatte Liquid Lipstick (Matador)
L’Oreal Infallible ProMatte Gloss (Rouge Envy)
Vice Ganda Phenomenal Velvet Lip Kit (Zelavu)
Cathy Doll Geisha Hanazakari Lip Matte (Red Rose)
Remember that longevity is not the only basis to tell how good a lipstick is. It always depends on our personal preferences. Some of us prefer long-wearing lippies, while some of us don’t mind retouching as long as they’re not drying. For others, it’s the pigmentation that makes them love a lipstick, while others are after the finish.
Among the bullets shown above, only the ones from BLK and Kris Aquino x Ever Bilena have demi-matte finish, if not full-matte. All of the lippies have great pigmentation and color pay-off, and are very comfortable on the lips. Though I really love them all, I’d say that Love from Kris Aquino has the best formula.
As for the liquid lipsticks, all of them are pigmented but if you’re going for the longevity, Maybelline Super Stay and L’Oreal Infallible ProMatte are highly recommended. Cathy Doll Geisha Hanazakari is also quite resilient, and it still looks fine even after a meal. Huda Beauty stays on long enough, but it bleeds along the edge of the lips. L’Oreal Infallible ProMatte Gloss may look demi-matte, but it does not dry down to matte. It’s not lip gloss either, so I’m wondering why it was named such. Clio Silkuid does not dry down to matte, but it stains nicely on the lips. Ever Bilena’s Love that Red isn’t that bad either. It’s super affordable, yet the quality is pretty good.
What about you? Which of the lippies shown do you like? Are you after the pigmentation, formula, or the longevity? Comment below!
Anyways, I hope you’re all having a wonderful time! Merry Christmas!
