Something delicioso has found its way to the South! | Fiery Style Southwoods Mall

The flaming grills of Fiery Style are finally open to fire up our appetites! So if you’re from Laguna or Cavite and a fan of the rich and flavorful dishes of the American southwest, then you’re in the right place!

I’m not going to make you wait long, I’ll be sharing with you some of the mouthwatering Southwestern dishes that we had at Fiery Style. My apologies, though, as this might keep you drooling and craving. 🤤👅💦 I suggest that you get yourself ready for a trip to Southwoods Mall in Binan, Laguna.

With a total of 15 branches, Fiery Style (fī(ə)rē) has recently opened a new branch in Southwoods Mall, a mall that is in the boarder of Carmona, Cavite and Binan, Laguna. You’ll find this colorful and lively restaurant at the Garden Atrium of the mall, right beside Pancake House.

The facade gives that fiesta vibe with all the bright and warm colors, that you’ll find welcoming and inviting. You may dine inside and enjoy live performances; or outside where, in my opinion, you can bond more with your friends or family and engage in good conversations.

Inside, the restaurant design focuses on a Mexican holiday called Dia de los Muertos, with a huge mural of skull candies on the wall of the stage and a framed artwork of a skeleton with a sombrero on its head and a maraca in its hand, which hangs on the wall near the counter.

The ambiance is warm and lively, with all the vibrant colors of red, orange, yellow, etc. The servidoras y servidores are all very friendly and accommodating. They make you feel you are their amigo. Despite the volume of people who came on their soft opening, they did not show even a single speck of irritation. And that, I truly appreciate. 🙏

Now, let’s get to the highlight of this blog: LA COMIDA!

Of course, this post will never be complete without the food! Upon arrival, we were handed with their menu. Let me just give the menu a little appreciation. I really like that the menu includes all the essential details about the dishes, it makes the decision a lot easier.

Okay, I was dining with three other wonderful people – Chell (if you’ve been with me for a while, then you’ll know who she is) who’s a fellow-blogger, Noriel, and Angel from Mplify. So we ordered some for sharing and some for ourselves.

Brace yourself! Don’t say I didn’t warn ya!

First, we ordered Fiery Nachos. It was served in a round tin can which was gradually removed, revealing a stack of nachos, cheese and loads of toppings. If I’m not mistaken, it was inspired by Guy Fieri’s Trash Can Nachos.

Choices of corn chips or potato chips, topped with nachos cheese sauce, guacamole, tomato salsa, jalapeños, and sour cream & choices of grilled jalapeño-lime chicken, Mexican chili, beef, BBQ pulled pork or barbecued beef brisket. La sorpresa!

The colorful chips were thin and crispy and was served with a generous amount of toppings and sauces. It can be consumed by 2 people, that is if they’re not going to have any other dishes. 😄 This towering appetizer can be served to 3-4 persons.

Next is the Lord of the Wings! (I love witty names! haha!) Twenty-four chicken wings in hanging metal skewers were served in three different flavors with three special sauces.

NACHO CHEESE SAUCE & BACON (Finger licking good!)
TEXAN-STYLE BBQ (A sticky treat)

My personal pick is the Texan-Style BBQ, which are the two ones on the right. It has a decent level of spiciness, something that I, a total noob in chilis, can appreciate. I loved the sweet BBQ sauce that was truly delectable. Nacho Cheese Sauce & Bacon tasted amazing, too, so if you’re a fan of chicken, cheese, and bacon, you’ll definitely love it. The cheese sauce also had a kick of spiciness to it, while it kept the rich creamy flavor of cheese. However, if you’re like me who has a sensitive tongue and has low tolerance for spicy food, then you won’t like their Hot Hot Hot Sauce & Jalapeños. Otherwise, I recommend that you try it.

Next is another dish that’s good for sharing and it’s probably my most favorite of all. It’s their Steak ala Familia! I actually prefer my steak well done, but that time I decided to give medium rare a try. And boy was I glad I did!

The burnt smell and the sear lines of freshly-grilled steak were super inviting, that even though I was never into any uncooked or semi-uncooked meat, I was converted. Just look at how succulent the meat is! It seemed to melt in my mouth as I chewed. It was juicy, tender, and flavorful that I even forgot that it was served with gravy!

The price may seem a little steep, but I think it’s just reasonable since it’s for sharing. I guess it’ll be enough for 4-5 persons when served with rice. So if you come with your friends, and have everyone chip in, you’ll save a few bucks. 😉 I promise you, it’s worth it!

Now for our individual orders. 🤤

I had a hard time deciding if I was going to have their U.S. Sirloin Steak or their Fiery BBQ Bacon Mushroom Burger or a Burrito. I ended up choosing their Burrito!

A freshly rolled floured tortilla loaded with rice, beans, peppers, and sweetcorn in a Louisiana-style sauce, mixed leaves, cheese, and sour cream.

Boy their Burrito was enorme! I chose BBQ Pulled Pork. It was served with spicy salad and a few colorful corn chips. The salsa and chipotle mayo tasted good, too.

They also serve Chimichanga, in case you want it deep-fried.

The Burrito was generously stuffed, so if you have a small appetite, one slice will be enough. You’ll want to share it with your friend. The pork was tender, the rice was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the bean was soft and smooth. The herbs and spices were not too overpowering and even the tortilla tasted just right. The Burrito was wrapped firmly enough that eating it wasn’t a struggle. ¡Me encanta!

Both Chell and Angel ordered burgers, which were served with french fries in a boat-shaped dish. Chell got the Southern Fried Sloppy Burger, which we initially thought had rice, but was actually a breaded bread. 😋

Cheddar cheese sauce, American cheddar cheese, Herb cream cheese, and Mozzarella cheese.

Another interesting looking burger in Fiery Style with its thick black bun. The fries were crispy yet soft inside, and even when an hour passed, they did not go soggy.

A ship of BBQ ribs, chicken wings, and meaty pork hammers, Beef Ribs served with Southwest chips or our choices of fiery rice, coleslaw & Texan-style BBQ sauce.

Of course, when there’s food, there are drinks!

This is their Fresh Minty Green Mandarin Juice. We ordered it in pitcher so all four of us could enjoy. A pitcher costs P198, and a glass costs P78. Everyone agreed that this juice was, indeed, refreshing. It was not too sweet, nor too sour, it was just the right blend. I also liked that there were real mint leaves in it.

They also serve alcoholic beverages from Draft Beers to Modern Mexican Cocktails.

And of course, what’s a Mexican restaurant without chili and chocolate?

Oh and how can I forget this very palatable New York Frozen Cheesecake?! It melts in the mouth, it’s super soft, it’s not too sweet, it’s totally a must-have! It’s just a little pricey, though, for P248. But I’m telling you, it’s a quick trip to heaven!

Final thoughts

I really love Fiery Style! I loved everything I had there and I can’t wait to go back, this time, with my family. I’m also impressed that the Southwestern theme did not end at the food, uniforms, and decorations. Even the tiny details, such as the galleon-shaped serving dishes.

Southwestern food has a rich and interesting history and I’m satisfied that they were able to incorporate the background to their dishes.
