If you’re someone like me who loves makeup, books, and Harry Potter, then this post is for you!
Back in 2016, I was so thrilled to discover Storybook Cosmetics. They officially launched in 2017 (if I’m not mistaken) when they created Harry Potter inspired wand brushes – which, by the way, were quickly imitated upon release. As far as I remember they had to discontinue the first designs to avoid copyright issues, and so they created their own.
They also came out with a gorgeous eyeshadow palette, which was initially named Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Then they released Collector’s Edition of Wizardry and Witchcraft Liquid Lipsticks, which I will tell you more about later in this post.
Last year during the Christmas season, Dee came home from the US for a vacation. Before she left for the Philippines, he asked me if there was anything I wanted to buy. When I checked Storybook Cosmetics’ website, I was fortunate that these babies were on sale! Yay~ Thank you again, Dee!
Storybook Cosmetics Wizardry and Witchcraft Liquid Lipsticks | Collector’s Edition
I am so in love with the presentation of the products. Everything about it is a masterpiece. The quality of the box and the sleeve is superb. It’s not just the look, but the feel, of the packaging.
It does resemble a hardbound book, plus it comes with a bookmark.
You can tell that the owners poured their mind, heart, and soul out to their products. The details are so intricate that even the caps of the liquid lipstick are so elegant.
Now let me show you the swatches…
This is Potion. Slytherins or not can slither in.
It is such a beautiful metallic emerald green that has tiny gold specks in it.
Now this is Salem. Salem is a classy metallic deep taupe that has purple tones in it.
I noticed that its consistency is a bit thicker than all the other shades in this set.
Sorcerer is such a lovely metallic ruby red that I believe will complement any skin tone.
I am so in love with this red! Go, Go, Gryffindor!
Finally, Merlin is a gorgeous metallic sapphire blue shade that I became so obsessed with.
I may not be a Ravenclaw, but I’m digging this shade!
It has a really lightweight formula, it feels super comfortable on the lips. It also stays on for hours, which I like a lot since I hate constant touch-ups. And if I eat, it fades beautifully. It’s resilient, it does not crack. It isn’t tacky and it dries down so it’s kiss-proof, smudge-proof, and transfer-proof.
The coverage is good enough to cover the lips in one swipe. Because of its thin and lightweight formula, layering isn’t a problem. It’s buildable anyway so I just need to add another coat to make it fully opaque.
I am so happy with the shade selection. It may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but for those who love bold shades – including me – these are bomb!
Not to be biased, but really, these lippies are worth getting! 👌
