I’m super lazy when it comes to my brows. So when I’m just going out for an errand, I just use a mascara (yup the one for the lashes) for extra volume and I’m good to go.
But when I do put on makeup, I spend a lot of time trying to get decent looking brows. The struggle is real for me!
I love brow gels! I find them a lot easier to work with, most especially with a very good precision angled eyebrow brush.
Unlike many others, I’m not a huge fan of eyebrow pencils. I don’t know why, but I find them difficult to work with. Although I’ve tried a few that works fine, some of them are too harsh, some too waxy, some too soft and there are some that are too brittle. There are some that are hard to blend and there are those that get rubbed off so easily.
I also usually have a hard time shaping my brows with triangular tips. But I know this part is already my problem. I know a lot who are more comfortable with brow pencils prefer them to brow powders or brow gels. So it’s not the product, it’s me! 😅😂
Despite that, I’m still open to trying different brow pencils, hoping to find the one that will become my go-to.
A’bloom Brow Wow Eyebrow Pencil
A’bloom is a brand that’s under Althea Korea. Last year, they came out with an eyebrow pencil which they call Brow Wow Eyebrow Pencil.
This eyebrow pencil comes in three shades: Soft Brown, Dark Brown, and Grey Brown. It has a triangular tip with a spoolie on the other end.

A’bloom Brow Wow has a cream to powder formula so it smoothly glides onto the skin. It does not stick onto the brow hairs so no brow hairs are harmed everytime this brow pencil is used! 😋
The shade that I got is Grey Brown, the shade that’s closest to the color of my brows and my roots. I like that it’s pigmented enough that drawing lines and filling the brows in come easy, but it isn’t too saturated that it gives my brows a natural look. We can start light then build the color up.
Just like any eyebrow product, this brown pencil requires extra effort when used on bare skin. I’d say that putting a little concealer or foundation or simply patting a little powder on the brow area makes the application a lot easier.
At first, I used it on bare skin and I got a little frustrated trying to even it out. But when I used it on top of a powder and a concealer, it worked so much better.
Since the triangular tip is thinner than most brow pencils, I can create more precise and cleaner lines. The spoolie is also really nice. The bristles are soft so they don’t hurt the skin and they don’t pull the brow hairs.

It’s smudge-proof and can last for hours, but not when you’re super sweaty or oily. They can stay longer despite the sweat and the oil, as long as they are not constantly touched or wiped.
This has not caused breakouts, which is a really good thing. Most of the products I tried before caused acne on my brows.

Overall, I think A’bloom Brow Wow Eyeshadow Pencil is worth getting. Most especially because it only costs P210 for 0.18g. But it’s currently on sale, you can buy it for only P140! That’s 33% off! Also, I find it easy to work with and I love how it just gives my brows a fuller look without taking it over the top.
