Stay calm with AXIS-Y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask

At this difficult time, a lot of us have become extra sensitive, emotional, and irritable. Can’t blame you, though. It’s been almost two years and we’re still in a situation that I always thought I’d only see in movies. Plus everything that’s been going around in the news. Could it get any worse?

I think what we need now is something that’s really hard to do. Some may even get triggered by this. It’s just a simple 4-letter word, but in this state, it seems to be the most complicated word.

I know… Even the old me would be angry and scream to my ear, “HOW CAN I STAY CALM?!!” And if you, too, can hear this question (whether a loud yell or a soft whisper) in your mind, then I think you do need CALM. The situation we are in is out of our control and I’ve learned that the more we resist, the more we get stuck.

But we are in control of our own mind… Of how we can see and deal with things… We should focus our energy more on the ones we can control.

It’s time for self-care.

There are many ways to show ourselves extra love and care and aside from learning new things, my favorite is skin care.

Because we are too focused on work or our home, we neglect ourselves. We don’t care about how we look because getting things done is the top priority. Who cares what they think about our tired, stressed, and irritated skin, right?

Well, if no one else cares, then WE should.

One of the things I’ve learned and I can say is true, is that how we think greatly affects how we are in life. “As within so without.” How we are inside is how we are outside. So the major shift in our lives requires a major shift in our mindset.

Just as we all need calm, our skin needs it, too. Environmental factors and, believe it or not, our mental health conditions can cause a lot of stress to our skin and it can hardly keep up. “As within so without.”

Know that you are not alone in this journey. This has become a collective problem and everyone’s going through tough times. You have people around you who support you and AXIS-Y is here for you, too!

AXIS-Y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask

Also called Heartleaf Intensive Relief Gel Mask, New Skin Resolution Gel Mask is “formulated with one core ingredient and a blend of six natural ingredients in combination with our advanced skincare technology. Heartleaf repairs and soothes dull and irritated skin while 2% Niacinamide noticeable brightens and evens skin tone. Madecassoside, Calendula, Allantoin, and other plan based ingredients aid in moisturizing and reinforcing the skin’s natural barrier function.”

AXIS-Y is now a favorite brand, eversince I tried their products. They’ve become an essential part of my routine from washing to masking. I initially tried their Mugwort Pore Clarifying Wash-Off Pack, which you can read here.

Unlike the AXIS-Y Mugwort Pore Clarifying Wash-Off Pack, AXIS-Y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask doesn’t dry up. It’s got a gel consistency that gives a cooling and relaxing effect. Slathering it all over the skin isn’t difficult, too, and it doesn’t drip.

But just like the Mugwort mask, this gel mask also has bits of real plants. I believe the bits infuse more of the plants’ properties in the product making it more effective. I also find it interesting because it gives the impression of using something that came from the garden.

What’s in it?

AXIS-Y is known for products with plant based ingredients. So if you’re very particular with the things you put on your skin, whether or not you’re vegan, then I think this deserves a spot in your routine.

Here’s a list of the ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Betaine, 1,2-Hexanedoil, Niacinamide, Diglycerin, Centella Asiatica Extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extract, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Eclipta Prostata Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract, Artemisia Princeps Extract, Dioscorea Spiraea Ulmaria Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Helianthis Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Aniba Rosodora (Rosewood) Wood Oil, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Tromethamine, Carbomer, Panthenol, Houttuynia Cordata Powder, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Allantoin, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Disodium Edta, Fructooligosaccharides, Dextrin, Beta-Glucan, Ceramide Np, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Madecassoside, Propanediol, Butylene Glycol, Enthylhexyglycerin

This product is infused with ingredients that do not just calm and soothe the skin (such as Grapefruit peel oil, Rosemary oil, Anthemis Nobilis (commonly known as chamomile), Houttuynia Cordata (also known as the Chameleon plant of Heart Leaf), but also make the skin healthy with their antioxidant and anti-aging properties. Some of these ingredients that are rich in antioxidants are Madecassoside, Eclipta Prostata (also known as false daisy), Melia Azadirachta (Chinaberry), Cocoa, Artemisia Princeps (Japanese Mugwort), among many others. Antioxidants prevent free radicals from further damaging the skin.

Other ingredients such as Fig extract and Sunflower Seed Oil lock in moisture.

It also has Lavender oil which reduces inflammation and dark spots, which is also what Houttuynia Cordata (also known as Chamomile) does on our skin.

Niacinamide increases the skin’s resilience by strengthening its barrier. It also helps the pores appear smaller; it improves texture and balances oil production.

How to use AXIS-Y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask

First, I wash my face with my AXIS-Y Quinoa One-Step Balanced Gel Cleanser. Read more about it here.

With a towel, I remove the excess water from my face leaving it a bit damp. I just like doing it because it makes the application so much easier. Just not too wet or the product will slide and drip.

I apply a generous amount all over my face avoiding my eye and mouth areas.

I live it on for about 20-25 minutes. You can let it sit for less than that, like about 10-15 minutes, I just like it longer. Then rinse it off, preferably with lukewarm water.

Use it two to three times a week for best results.

Here’s a quick video of me applying the mask. I posted it on my TikTok. Click the image to watch.

What I think about AXIS-Y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask

Others may find this step unnecessary, but I guess it really depends on preference. Because for me, it has become a must-have, most especially on days when my skin is acting up. Honestly, I also use this on days when I feel super exhausted and I want to give myself a little pampering. Not only do the ingredients work amazing when it comes to calming my irritated skin, but also when it comes to calming my nerves.

I think there’s something about the cool gel and its plant bits. Others of you may find it absurd, because what the heck am I talking about, right? But I think it’s because of it being plant-based (and the real bits of plants) that it makes me get closer to nature. And one way we can ground ourselves is to get closer to nature.

The formula is perfect for my combination and acne-prone skin. I’ve noticed improvement in texture and appearance. There’s also added glow because of the increased protection it has given my skin.

I also love the scent! It’s earthy and minty, which I am so much into. I think the scent is also what makes me feel so relaxed when I have it on.

Oh and if you’re one of those who do not fancy mask packs that are difficult to rinse, then you might want to go with this gel mask. Since it does not dry up and stick like clay masks do, it’s easy to remove.

I highly recommend AXIS-Y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask. You can purchase it from their website for only $23.
