As we get into skin care, we become keen on the ingredients. Eventually, we start having our favorites. As for me, it’s mugwort. As I have mentioned in many of my posts, I have acne-prone skin. And when my skin starts to act up, my go-to is my mugwort mask. One of my favorites is the AXIS-Y Mugwort Pore Clarifying Wash-Off Pack.
Masking has become an essential part of my routine as it not only deals with my skin issues, it also kind of amps up my me time. We all deserve to take a pause from our busy daily lives. We need to take a breather (our skin, too). As for me, I love doing it with a really nice mask. To make a little bit more extra, I use my rose quartz roller!
Did you know that mugwort has been used for its medicinal properties for thousands of years? It’s nerve calming. It treats stomach and intestinal issues. It is also used by women for their menstrual problems. It’s even used for magical purposes – healing, cleansing, dream work, astral travel, and divination.
AXIS-Y 61 % Mugwort Green Vital Energy Complex
“AXIS-Y 61% Mugwort Green Vital Energy Complex Sheet Mask is made with cellulose fiber enriched with 61% Mugwort extract known for its soothing and skin healing properties. Known for its products with plant-based ingredients, AXIS-Y stays aligned with their values as they use 100% vegetable derived cellulose material for their sheet mask.
And with mugwort as the main ingredient, it’s extra extra soothing. Not only does it feel relaxing, it also heals our skin. It reduces redness and irritation as well.
What’s in it?
Artemisia Capillaris Extract (61%), Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Melia Azadorachta Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polyganum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extact, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Licorice) Root Extract, Eucalyptus Glabulus Leaf Oil, Chamomillia Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Dextrin, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Juniperus Mexicana Oil, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Hibiscus Esculentus Fruit Extract, Spinacia Oleracea (Spinach) Leaf Extract, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Artemisia Princeps Leaf Water, Carbomer, Allantoin, Tromethamine, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Hydroxyacetophenone, Caprylyl Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Phytate, Caramel, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Ethylhexylglycerin
Notice that the first on the list is mugwort since there’s 61% of it here. Next is water. There are quite a lot of ingredients that can also be found in their other products like the Melia Azadirachta, also known as Chinaberry, which has healing properties and addresses skin issues.
What I find notable in this list are the vegetables! I know that tomatoes or carrots are used as main ingredients in other products, but I find it super interesting that this contains cabbage, spinach, and broccoli! They contain Vitamins C and K, which are good antioxidants. Apparently, it’s not just my taste buds that can enjoy them, my skin, too.
So if you’re picky with the ingredients in your skin care, whether you’re vegan or not, I think you can find this product a must-try.
What I think about AXIS-Y 61% Mugwort Green Vital Energy Complex Sheet Mask
Starting off with its see-through packaging, I fell in love with it the instant I saw it. It gives me the impression that it is as real as it gets. You can see what’s in it from the get go. It’s also made with recyclable material making it eco-friendly.
The sheet mask is soaked in the essence which has a gel-like consistency. I like it because it’s not too thick nor too runny. When I removed the sheet mask from the packet, it didn’t get messy because it didn’t drip despite it being super soaked in the essence.
It has an earthy and minty scent to it, which I love.
The mask also fits nicely on my face with the right placements of holes and a couple of cuts along the jaw area. It also adheres well it does not slide down my face.
I guess the only thing I’m not a super fan of is that it leaves a slippery residue on the skin. 😅 So for me it’s a nighttime sheet mask for extra hydration. I just don’t like going around with some essence still sitting on my face during the day. It isn’t that bad, though. Especially if you have dry skin, this will be perfect for you.
Even though the sheet mask holds so much of the essence, there’s still some left in the packet, which I’ve kept in the fridge for later use. I love applying it on drier areas of my body, too.
It’s already cooling as it is, but I still find it best to keep it in the fridge before use for extra cooling effect.
A sheet mask costs $4 and a box of 5 costs $18, which isn’t a bad price at all for a quality such as this.
