When a product is hyped, I’m not one to buy it right away. I’m one of the skeptical ones. If I do buy it, it’s usually when the hype has died down.
One of the products that’s been getting so much hype is SelfCoding Never Be The Same Liquid Foundation. It’s distributed by Charis. Fortunately, I’m one of the Charis Celebs, so I was able to try it and see for myself. I have it in the shade Medium.
Because the lippies were good, I somehow had high expectations from this foundation. However, I also understand that just because they come from the same brand doesn’t mean they’ll perform just the same.
SelfCoding Never Be The Same Liquid Foundation
“The oil-free foundation is strong in moisture and sweat. It covers the pores and wrinkles to create clean and smooth skin.”
Just like their lipsticks, SelfCoding Never Be The Same Liquid Foundation is housed in a transparent plastic box with a minimalist design. I find the symbols on the side of the box interesting, too. I’m seriously curious about what they might mean. 🤔
The product is in a small plastic squeezable bottle with a narrow spout, which I think makes it more convenient and more practical to use. Dispensing the product is not as messy as when I do with the ones in pump bottles. I can control the amount of product that I need and I think this enables me to use it down to the last drop.
This foundation has a watery consistency so you might want to be extra careful when you dispense directly on your face because it’s a bit runny. Surprisingly, it is pigmented and adheres to the skin well. It gives that my-skin-but-better finish. By the way, make sure to give it a good shake before using it.
What I think about SelfCoding Never Be The Same Liquid Foundation
Three words: I. Love. It.
This is my current go-to foundation because it’s super lightweight, it has good coverage, and it lasts all day.
It doesn’t get cakey even when my face has oiled up. Instead, it just looks like I put moisturizer on. If I blot out the oil, my makeup doesn’t look like I went through a trainwreck. It has minimal transfer on the tissue, which allows the makeup to still look decent.
I also noticed that the formula adjusts to my skin tone. I have the shade Medium, but as the day goes by, it seems to perfectly match my skin.
I love that I end my day not feeling sticky or heavy. It also contains Superfood extracts, so it’s makeup and skincare in 1. It has Avocado oil, Jojoba oil, Coconut oil, and Witch Hazel.
Also, this foundation only costs P680! Considering that this is a Korean brand, P680 is a good price.
I highly recommend it!
Oh and before I forget, it has 9 shades – YES NINE! Most Korean products have very limited shade range, but SelfCoding isn’t playing around. Here are the shades as shown on Hicharis:
