Don’t let the cold bother your skin | AXIS-Y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner

It’s the time of the year when it starts to get colder (well, except for our friends who live down under). If you’re Filipino like me, you’ll agree that 26º C is already pretty cold. And wherever we live, cold weather draws moisture away from the skin leaving it dry and dull. We don’t want that, do we?

I find this toner very interesting because of its consistency. Since AXIS-Y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner is an essence and toner in one, it is not too watery like the usual toners and not too thick like most essences. Despite its slightly high viscosity, it is smooth, easily absorbed by the skin, and does not feel sticky. It’s just a bit tacky upon application, but the tackiness goes away once it’s absorbed.

It is unscented, but for some reason, the combination of the ingredients reminds me of rice water. 😅 It’s very gentle, unlike other toners that irritate my nose.

What’s in it?

If you’ve read my previous posts about AXIS-Y, you’ll know that they only use plant-based ingredients which makes it safe and gentle even on sensitive skin.

The 6 Base Ingredients are: Allantoin, which stimulates cell proliferation and encourages new tissue growth; Squalane, which soothes painful irritations with its anti-inflammatory properties; Centella Asiatica that boosts skin’s natural healing process; Green Tea, which provides a calming effect and refreshing feeling; Heartleaf that soothes irritated and inflamed skin, helping skin’s immunity; and Mugwort, which helps to provide glowing skin and improve skin tone.

Its core ingredient is Hyaluronic Acid, which helps skin retain moisture and build up cell wall density for tighter and minimized pores.

It also has an effective technology called OLIGO-HAOligo-Hyaluronic Technology that reduces the size of hyaluronic acid molecules to improve skin permeability, helping to improve skin elasticity and wrinkles by stem cell activation.

What I think about AXIS-Y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner

I have used other types of toners and I’d say this is one of the most hydrating ones. With the usual toners, I often use a cotton pad because it picks up excess dirt thoroughly cleansing my skin. However, with the AXIS-Y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner, I prefer applying it on my face with my hands.

As I’ve previously mentioned, it may have a bit of tackiness upon application, but it goes away shortly after. It is still easily absorbed by the skin despite its consistency so it does not leave the skin feeling icky and tacky.

I love how it makes my skin instantly hydrated. It feels plump and healthy. It makes my skin a good base for makeup, too. The makeup applies and adheres better.
