When you love coffee so much that you also want it on your face. 😅

I was stoked when Honestly It’s reached out to me so that I may try their very interesting product – “My Addiction” Foaming Scrub Powder. It is a foaming facial scrub made with coffee. I love coffee and though I haven’t had a single cup for more than a couple of weeks now (and suffered terrible migraines for nearly a week as a result), I will still be able to enjoy it, well, in a different way this time. 😉

Honestly It’s is an upcycled skincare startup from the Netherlands. They “make sustainable products in an innovative way, to upcycle and use healthy ingredients for vegan, cruelty-free skincare.”
Their mission is “not only to make sustainable and plastic-free products but also to raise awareness of Plastic Pollution and Waste in the skincare industry.”
Honestly, It’s “My Addiction” Foaming Scrub Powder

“Gently removes dead skin cells, helps to rejuvenate the skin and boosts circulation. Keeps the skin looking perky, even and soft.”
It claims to remove dead skin cells, gently wash away dirt and oil, soften and soothe dry skin, boost blood circulation, reduce the appearance of cellulite, and fade away bacne and stretch marks.

“My Addiction” Foaming Scrub Powder is made from upcycled coffee grinds that are collected from coffee shops. It is made up of 50% used coffee grounds, 10% antioxidant-rich oils, and 2% caffeine. It is packed in a compostable sachet so both the product and the packaging are biodegradable, which makes it environment-friendly, as well as travel-friendly.
What’s in it
Though the main ingredient is coffee, this product also contains oils that are really good for the skin.

Here’s are the ingredients:
Used coffee grounds (dried), Coffee Arabica Powder, SCI Sodium Cocoyl Isethione (Coconut Derived Cleansing Agent), Coco Glucoside, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil), Glycerin, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Olea Europea (Olive) Oil, Tocopherol, Caffeine, Cetearyl Olivate & Sorbitan Olivate, Lactobacillus ferment
Since caffeine is an antioxidant, it prevents wrinkles, fine lines, and saggy skin.

To create a foamy lather that does not dehydrate the skin, they used a coconut-derived cleansing agent, as well as coco glucoside.
It is known that almond oil, grape seed oil, and olive oil are good at making and keeping the skin moisturized, soft, and smooth.
And because it has Lactobacillus ferment, the skin barriers are strengthened, protecting the skin from any damage.
Overall, the ingredients are all-natural and are proven beneficial for the skin.
What I think of “My Addiction” Foaming Scrub Powder
The idea itself is a total WIN for me. It’s upcycled. It comes in environment-friendly packaging. It’s zero-waste, cruelty-free, and good for the skin. To top it all off, it’s coffee!
What I like about it is that it’s not just for the face, but for the body as well.

I have fun using it because I get amused that this coffee scrub foams up. 😄
It instantly makes my skin soft and smooth as it exfoliates rough areas and dead skin cells. Despite it being an exfoliating scrub, it does not make my skin dry.
However, I’m not into scrubbing my face daily so I use it twice a week. Careful not to over-scrub your face. Anything that’s overdone isn’t good. 😉
This is now my go-to scrub because I love the effect it gives my skin after. My skin looks clean, healthy, supple, and glowing.

By the way, Honestly It’s “My Addiction” Foaming Scrub is also an effective exfoliator for the scalp. My scalp felt extra clean and fresh as it eliminated any remaining dirt or oil and dead skin cells. It’s also safe for my curly hair, too!

Just one reminder, it may take a while to completely rinse off the coffee grounds. Overall, it’s worth it.
