You need to add MUGWORT in your skin care routine! | I’M FROM MUGWORT MASK + ESSENCE | #RIXreviews

According to the page WebMD, mugwort is a plant that grows in Asia, North America, and Northern Europe. The plant parts that grow above the ground and the root are used to make medicine.

People take mugwort root as a “tonic” and to boost energy.

People take the rest of the plant for stomach and intestinal conditions including colicdiarrheaconstipationcramps, weak digestion, worm infestations, and persistent vomiting. Mugwort is also used to stimulate gastric juice and bile secretion. It is also used as a liver tonic; to promote circulation; and as a sedative. Other uses include treatment of hysteria, epilepsy, and convulsions in children.

Women take mugwort for
irregular periods and other menstrual problems.

In combination with other ingredients, mugwort root is used for mental problems (psychoneuroses), ongoing
fatigue and depression (neurasthenia), depression, preoccupation with illness (hypochondria), general irritability, restlessness, trouble sleeping (insomnia), and anxiety.

Some people apply mugwort lotion directly to the
skin to relieve itchiness caused by burn scars.

Apparently, mugwort does wonders to our body inside and out. And a Korean skin care brand has also put it to good use. This brand is called I’m From. I’m From is under Wishtrend, the company that carries popular brands such as Dear Klairs, By Wishtrend, CosRX, and Chica y Chico.

BOTTOMS UP! Product Empties #1

I have been collecting empty boxes, jars, and bottles for months, because I’ve planned on posting my “product empties”. My mom was already eyeing on them and was itching to throw them away. So I just kept them all in a shoe box.

IMG_20180401_132100-01.jpeg

Actually not all. 😪 I got rid of some because I kept forgetting that I’d be posting my empties!

I have been meaning to post this, but see, it took me ages before I actually did! Thanks to Dee! I am finally doing it.

So yeah, I’m doing this in collaboration with Dee, and you can check out her blog here.

Dee and I collaborated last December 2017 on YouTube, and we both did a Holiday Glam makeup look.

This time we’re doing a collab on our respective blogs. I’m so excited to know what products she’s used up, and whether or not she’s going to get them again.

Mine consists of products that I used up from way, way back. Everything is listed in random order.

By the way, isn’t it satisfying to see ourselves actually finishing up items we spent our money on whether or not we like them? Continue reading “BOTTOMS UP! Product Empties #1”

The BEST Healing Clay on the Planet?! | #RIXREVIEWS: NAVAJO Indian Healing Clay Bentonite Clay Mask

These past few weeks, my Facebook feed had been bombarded with posts about people in queues just for a tub of a particular Indian Healing Clay. Some of them had known it and loved it, while others were probably just jumping on the bandwagon. Some of them didn’t even know what they were for, but there they were, stuck in No. 69, 78, or 100. Some even posted in groups asking how the product was used, right AFTER making a purchase.

I mean, shouldn’t we know first what we are lining up for? That before spending money on a product, I believe we must give it some thought beforehand.

But I cannot deny that I got curious myself. Why would it be hyped if it weren’t good, right? Lucky me, I was given the opportunity to try out something from a different brand that promises the same effect. (Thanks, Ms. Cha!) Since it contains 100% Natural Calcium Bentonite and Green Clay, it claims to effectively cleanse and detoxify, while healing the skin.

Since it was my first time to try an Indian Healing Clay mask, I had to educate myself and make a lot of research.

DO note, though, that this product was sent to me for testing and reviewing purposes. Rest assured, you can expect that what’s written here is purely my honest opinion, based on my personal experience. #RIXREVIEWS: NATURE SKIN SECRETS Skin Purifier Black Toner

First things first, let me begin this post by telling you some things that must be considered:

  1. I had not used any toners before I got this. It’s been ages since I last used one.
  2. I was having a bad skin day when I received it – more like bad skin dayS – so my skin was rough and I had several pimples on my forehead, somewhere on the cheeks, and around the mouth area.
  3. I’m not a doll so I don’t have a perfect skin. I’ve had pimple marks and scars and that’s that.
  4. I don’t get facials. The first and the last time I did was at Flawless Sta. Rosa back in 2016, and that’s how I got my huge pimple scar on my right cheek underneath my eye. I had an acne when I went there, and my attendant pricked it.
  5. Of course, this is not the only product that I’m currently using. However, I can tell that the results I got was from this product, since the other products were already being used even before I had the toner.
  6. This product was sent to me to try and review.
DO NOTE, THOUGH, THAT I ALWAYS GIVE MY SUPER DUPER HONEST OPINION AND I BASE EVERYTHING ON HOW I FEEL DURING THE PROCESS AND HOW GOOD THE OUTCOME IS. SO IF I SAY I LOVE IT, THAT MEANS I LOVE IT, AND IF I SAY I HATE IT, THAT MEANS I HATE IT.
ALSO, REMEMBER THAT NOT BECAUSE IT WORKS FOR ME, IT WILL WORK FOR YOU. BUT WHO KNOWS? RIGHT? BETTER TRY IT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. 😉

Okay, let’s get started!

You may have read two Nature Skin Secrets products on my blog – the Detox Mask with Black Combo and You Glow Girl Gold Collagen Detox Mask. In case you haven’t yet, I mentioned on both posts that the thing I don’t like about them is the lack of information on labels. I always read the labels before actually diving into any product. (Comment below if you do it, too!) Continue reading “#RIXREVIEWS: NATURE SKIN SECRETS Skin Purifier Black Toner”

#RIXREVIEWS: NARUKO Tea Tree Purifying Clay Mask & Cleanser in 1

One of the perks of having attended Glamcon MNL last January 21st was being able to get free samples from participating brands. One of those brands was Naruko.

Naruko was founded by Niuer, whom everyone in Taiwan refers to as the “Beauty King”. The brand was awarded the “Best New Brand 2010” in Taiwan and China, and for three consecutive years (2008-2010), it was considered as “the most outstanding contribution to beauty”.

The brand has established itself as distinctive and highly regarded, so I consider myself fortunate to be able to try at least one of their most sought-after products. Continue reading “#RIXREVIEWS: NARUKO Tea Tree Purifying Clay Mask & Cleanser in 1”
